First my apologies to Toni Aleo for this review taking so long!! Who knew months would pass and I would still have the blue screen of death on my laptop.
This was suppose to be my first vlog, but sadly my health has made that impossible. My own kids don’t recognize my voice due to this head cold lol and I don’t want to scare off what readers and followers I do have. So I am going to attempt to see if my Dragon program will work for me to get this typed up. So let’s get this ish on the road.
I absolutely love Toni Aleo’s Assassins series. It was my first venture into “sports romance” a couple years ago. Who doesn’t love a man who is taking the hits and scoring on the ice and off?? If you haven’t read on of Toni’s books you are missing out and seriously how can you do that to yourself. Well Delayed Call is no different!!!
We have hotter than should be allowed, Vaughn Johansson, a hockey player (duh) who doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t let people get too close. He isn’t looking for love. Then we have Brie Soledad, a hockey reporter. You’d think this girl had everything she wanted. Wrong!!! She was hard working but had no time for a social life. Her every second was taken up by work or Rodney, her little brother.
On camera these two clash. Made to ask questions that a two year old could ask, Brie wanted to ask the questions no one was asking and Vaughn was over answering the easy everyday questions and thought if Brie couldn’t challenge him why should he answer.
So how did these two come to any understanding or mutual respect?? Rodney!! I can’t tell you how or why, then. You’d have no reason to pick up the book. It’s a sassy, sexy, sentimental story. You fall in love with The characters. Vaughn is the ish but my heart was totally won over by Rodney.
Toni Aleo has yet to let me down with an Assassin’s book and I look forward to her next one.

When Two Hearts Collide
I wasn’t one to much stock into fate. Nor was I one for reading into signs. All of it was pure and complete hooey to me. There was no impactful moment when a person looked into someone’s eyes and, BAM, that was it. That they were the one because something in the way they connected told a person they’d found it. Love. Or whatever it was that made two people decided to align themselves together, infuriating habits and all, for the rest of their lives.
Charlie was otherworldly.
Kind. Funny. Smart. Witty.
He was exactly what I’d been looking for. Yet, entirely complicated.
That was my luck though.
Of course I’d find myself a man I thought I could really see a future with, knowing that future wasn’t as easily attainable as the chemistry between us was. Even with the amazing sex and small moments of true connection, I still didn’t think I could pick up and leave. Not my shop. The Raven’s Den was everything to me.
“If I fall asleep, luv, my apologies,” he said as he moved closer to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. “I don’t think I can keep my eyes open much longer. Ye’ve worn me out.”
I snuggled against him, trying not to think about the future. Tried to enjoy the small moment of perfection. A marked day that was as rare as finding a living unicorn. Because those moments were quickly approaching their end, and I had a heart to prepare for when it came time for one of us to make a choice.

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Release Date: March 8, 2017
Police detective Joe Cabrera used to have a pretty good life. Promising career, plenty of flirtations, and he never once needed to question the nature of his reality. All of that changed when he discovered the truth of the lalassu. Suddenly, he fell deep into a rabbit hole of paranormal powers, shadowy conspiracies and millennia-old secrets. Now, his old no-nonsense approach to his job just doesn’t work any longer. If he wants to stop his old enemy, André Dalhard, from hurting anyone else, Joe will need to find a more flexible option.
A master of disguise, Cali has assumed so many identities over the years that remembering who she was born to be is impossible. Abandoned on the streets as a child, she was rescued by André Dalhard. She’s served him loyally for many years, using her shape-shifting abilities to take on new personas in the blink of an eye, such as Boomerang, the master thief. To save Mr. Dalhard from prison, she becomes Colleen Avila, a meek and mild personal secretary.
Joe initially planned to use Colleen as a confidential informant, but wasn’t prepared for the intensity of his feelings for her. When he meets the arrogant and brash Boomerang and the determined and fearless Cali, he finds himself torn between the three women. For Cali, she knows she must inevitably either break Joe’s heart or turn against the man who saved her from a life of uncertainty and poverty.
As Joe and Cali work together, they discover an even greater threat to the lalassu, one that could send everyone tumbling down into a new rabbit hole. If their fears are realized, neither their friends nor their enemies will be able to escape.

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?
In the much-anticipated final book in the Brooklyn series, Elizabeth York once again leaves her heart, soul, blood, and tears with us. I honestly can not believe this is it. Brooklyn and Mark’s story is over. What a wild ride it is and no surprise that this last installment had saved the best for last.
Elizabeth York always brings her A game, but this time she upped it even more. The suspense, the twists, the turns, and even the OMGs that Elizabeth piled on us was worth every minute it took me to read Survived by Brooklyn. If you haven’t read this trilogy you are seriously missing out. I wish I could find the words to tell you how truly enthralling it is sadly I’m not a writer. I’m just a blogger who loves to talk about the books she reads.
I would like to first thank my good friend Liz York for suggesting that I read this book. I had downloaded it from Kindle when it was free sometime ago. But I download a lot of free books for those days that I just want anything to read and have nothing on my to be reviewed list. I read a lot of books being a book reviewer. Some great, some not so great, and there have even been a few (very few) that I just could not finish. So when Liz said you have to read Ditching the Dream, I grabbed my kindle and went off to one click it. Yep found out I already owned it. So I pulled it up and went on with my day. It took me a couple of hours to actually get to dive in. You know how it is when you’re a stay at home mom. Housework, running errands, and other duties take precedence (still don’t know why!?! LOL) But OMG!!! When I was finally able to dive in I was swept up in the life of Elizabeth Fairchild.
Elizabeth is a woman in her 40s, married to Greg, mother of 3 and completely utterly lost! She don’t know where she fits in in her own life. She has always been the dutiful and loving wife and mother. But is there more to her? Somewhere between college and getting married and raising her kids Elizabeth has lost her identity, her self-worth. She has thought about going off and seeing if she could make it on her own for years. Elizabeth has even discussed it with her best friend, Jessica. But seriously what kind of woman does that is all Elizabeth can think until the day she sits down and writes her husband Greg a letter, hops in her car, drives to the airport, and boards the plane to New York. Landing in a city she does not know, with no one to lean on Elizabeth finds herself questioning if she has done the right thing.
In Elizabeth’s quest to find herself she makes some new friends and catches the eye of two (yes, you read that right TWO) smoking hot men. Jack Stevens, the older and more dominant ex model. Who has a link to Beth’s past. He is cool, calm, and collected. Jack knows from the moment he sees Beth that she is who he wants. There is just something about her that seems so familiar and draws him to her. Then there is Kevin Parker, the muy Caliente Middle school Spanish teacher. A much younger man, who I already said is extremely hot, uses his Southern manners and fun-loving personality to get close to Lizzie. It also doesn’t hurt that they are neighbors and constantly “bumping” into each other. *FYI – not sure how you feel about cheating but Greg does give her permission to go “sow her wild oats”. So technically she is not cheating. *
Will Elizabeth find that she can do things is on her own, live a life that she is proud of, that she has worked for? Will she return to Greg, and the marriage that was not fulfilling any of her needs? OR will she find love and sexy steamy nights with Jack or Kevin?? All I can say is that this is not just a book about sex. It is about a woman (close to my age – although Elizabeth is older than me lol) who NEEDS to find herself. She needs to know she exists outside of the “picture perfect” bubble she has been in her whole life.
Who hasn’t looked at their life, at some point, and said I wonder what would have happened if I had done “FILL IN THE BLANK”? It may not be your love life that you wonder about. It may have been taking that year off of college, or not taking it. It may have been accepting that dinner invite from the cute guy you met. All of us have something we will drift back to and wonder how that one decision could have changed the course of our life. Elizabeth just found the courage to go and find out.
Fair warning, this is a series!! So don’t expect to have a HEA at the end of this book. And who knows what this HEA actually is. I know I am about to go one click Book 2 cause I can’t stand the not knowing.
You’ve been dying to read it and now you can grab Chase Me by Elizabeth York for just 99 cents.

There are books out there that really grab you. They help point you in a direction that you didn’t know you needed to go. For me one of those books is Dear Life. Dear Life is about four individual people who are at a crossroads in their life. Jace is a famous baseball player, Hollyn is a widowed waitress, Daisy is a very sheltered young woman, and Carter is a huge asshat. All four are linked by other people and in some instances don’t even know it.
While each person is participating in Dear Life for their own reasons you will see similarities in their need for the group. Jace is grieving due to a sacrifice he had to make. Hollyn is still grieving for her deceased husband, Daisy is hoping it will help her start living, and Carter is being forced to be there. Will this group be able to move towards their goals? Can they get past all the obstacles in their way?
It’s hard to write this review without giving up so much of the book and I believe this book needs open eyes. You may find something that I didn’t. The main point of the book is watching these four characters go through the Dear Life program. This program is meant to help you learn to live again. It’s meant to help you let go of the past, your fear, and grab hold of your future with open eyes and heart. Who doesn’t need that???
Meghan Quinn has written characters that are truly believable . They grab at your heart. You root for them, you cry for them, and you definitely cheer for them. This book slowly weaves itself into your heart, the characters are so real you feel as though you truly know them (and maybe you do have someone like them in your life).
I actually won this ARC and just knew I had to review it. As of right now you can pre-order Dear Life on Amazon here. It will be going live on January 5th. Right now it is only .99 so rush out and pre-order your copy. You will not be disappointed!!
My favorite quote is “Prove your existence. That’s your new motto to live by. What did you do today to prove your existence, what are you doing tomorrow to prove your existence in this world?”
There are not many books that instantly grab me from the first paragraph, Mind Lies by Harlow Stone is such a book. Most books I read the first chapter and then get drawn in, Mind Lies literally fish hooked me a drug me along from the ride…..and what a fricken ride!!! Mind Lies has it all love, mystery, suspense, sexy ass Irish accents, and hot brooding men.
Can you imagine waking up not knowing who you are, who the people standing around your hospital bed are, why they are crying, or even worse why the hell you are in a hospital bed??? This is what Jerri wakes up to when she comes out of a coma. And all she can remember is a man who holds her like she is his everything, protects her, and makes her feel cherished. Is he a memory?? Or just a man she dreamed?? He feels so real, the dreams seem so real.
Jerri finally figures out that the girl next to her bed is her best friend, Portia. Portia would do anything to help her get her memory back, but she has no clue who the man Jerri talks about is. She has never meet Lock and Jerri has never mentioned him. Could he really just be a dream???
When Jerri’s car accident turns out to be more than an accident she just knows that there is something more about her past and Lock. Buckle up next to Jerri and take this emotional and thrilling ride into the unknown. Jerri will find out about her past, the dangers threatening her, and if Lock is more than just a dream.
Harlow Stone is a kick ass suspenseful writer. She grabs you up and does not let you down. It has been a long time since I have read a book that made me want to jump to the end to confirm my suspicions. I was freaking out…praying that Jerri would find her Lock, and that he was everything she “remembered.”
Mind Lies is a mind riveting, heart aching, soul attaching book that you will not want to put down. It will stay with you long after you finish. It will be the book you talk about and remember for years to come.
I am so grateful to my good friend Liz for introducing me to the world of Harlow Stone. Now to pay that forward and introduce you all to her!! Enjoy her, share her, review her and just flat out love on this diamond!!
Which reminds me due to my love for Harlow and her generosity come back here on Friday for a giveaway!!! Swag and an Ebook of Mind Lies!!
