.•°*”˜˜”*°•.Review: Ditching The Dream by Isabelle Peterson.•°*”˜˜”*°•.

I would like to first thank my good friend Liz York for suggesting that I read this book. I had downloaded it from Kindle when it was free sometime ago. But I download a lot of free books for those days that I just want anything to read and have nothing on my to be reviewed list. I read a lot of books being a book reviewer. Some great, some not so great, and there have even been a few (very few) that I just could not finish. So when Liz said you have to read Ditching the Dream, I grabbed my kindle and went off to one click it. Yep found out I already owned it. So I pulled it up and went on with my day. It took me a couple of hours to actually get to dive in. You know how it is when you’re a stay at home mom. Housework, running errands, and other duties take precedence (still don’t know why!?! LOL) But OMG!!! When I was finally able to dive in I was swept up in the life of Elizabeth Fairchild.

Elizabeth is a woman in her 40s, married to Greg, mother of 3 and completely utterly lost! She don’t know where she fits in in her own life. She has always been the dutiful and loving wife and mother. But is there more to her? Somewhere between college and getting married and raising her kids Elizabeth has lost her identity, her self-worth. She has thought about going off and seeing if she could make it on her own for years. Elizabeth has even discussed it with her best friend, Jessica. But seriously what kind of woman does that is all Elizabeth can think until the day she sits down and writes her husband Greg a letter, hops in her car, drives to the airport, and boards the plane to New York. Landing in a city she does not know, with no one to lean on Elizabeth finds herself questioning if she has done the right thing.

In Elizabeth’s quest to find herself she makes some new friends and catches the eye of two (yes, you read that right TWO) smoking hot men. Jack Stevens, the older and more dominant ex model. Who has a link to Beth’s past. He is cool, calm, and collected. Jack knows from the moment he sees Beth that she is who he wants. There is just something about her that seems so familiar and draws him to her. Then there is Kevin Parker, the muy Caliente Middle school Spanish teacher. A much younger man, who I already said is extremely hot, uses his Southern manners and fun-loving personality to get close to Lizzie. It also doesn’t hurt that they are neighbors and constantly “bumping” into each other. *FYI – not sure how you feel about cheating but Greg does give her permission to go “sow her wild oats”. So technically she is not cheating. *

Will Elizabeth find that she can do things is on her own, live a life that she is proud of, that she has worked for? Will she return to Greg, and the marriage that was not fulfilling any of her needs? OR will she find love and sexy steamy nights with Jack or Kevin?? All I can say is that this is not just a book about sex. It is about a woman (close to my age – although Elizabeth is older than me lol) who NEEDS to find herself. She needs to know she exists outside of the “picture perfect” bubble she has been in her whole life.

Who hasn’t looked at their life, at some point, and said I wonder what would have happened if I had done “FILL IN THE BLANK”? It may not be your love life that you wonder about. It may have been taking that year off of college, or not taking it. It may have been accepting that dinner invite from the cute guy you met. All of us have something we will drift back to and wonder how that one decision could have changed the course of our life. Elizabeth just found the courage to go and find out.

Fair warning, this is a series!! So don’t expect to have a HEA at the end of this book. And who knows what this HEA actually is. I know I am about to go one click Book 2 cause I can’t stand the not knowing.

Thank you for reviewing!!! What a lovely surprise to find this on a Snowy Winter’s Day.
    I’m glad you enjoyed!
(Btw – yes – this is a series. All 6 books are Live, so there won’t be any waiting ‘for the next one.’ AND – the books that follow DO include the proverbial “HEA”s
Book 2 is Jack’s book (Not In My Wildest Dreams)
Book 3 is Phoebe’s book (Chasing the Dream)
Book 4 is Greg’s (the husband’s) book (Unexpected Dreams)
Book 5 is Kevin’s (the ‘muy Caliente Spanish Teacher’s) book (Feels Like a Dream)
    and the finale
Book 6 is Dare to Dream – it’s all the aforementioned characters as well as Greg & Elizabeth’s two sons. 😀
