Desperate for a paycheck after forfeiting a chance at her dream career, Roxie Malone accepts a job at a law firm, assisting a hard-to-please and too tempting criminal attorney. Struggling to censor her sarcasm and adjust to the expectations of the challenging man, she maintains one goal. Do not get fired. As long as she refuses to mix business with pleasure, she might have a shot at earning the bonus at the end of the case.

Me, assistant. You, boss.

Losing the drive that made him one of the top lawmen at his firm, Grant Newland takes a leave of absence at the worst possible time. Upon hearing his friend is charged for murder, Grant races back to work to fight for justice. But concentrating on the case is easier said than done with the gorgeous, no-nonsense assistant trailing behind him.

Blurring the lines…

Roxie and Grant agree to leave their pasts behind them, opting to swallow the pain of the sacrifices they’d made. They focus on answering one question. Who killed famous singer, Josh Warren? Chasing clues and stumbling over dead ends, they try to deny their attraction to each other. It’s only a matter of time before they can debate whether it might be better to tackle their case as a team, instead of resisting each other.

Being an a blogger who deals with mainly Indie authors is amazing. I get asked by new (to me or debuting) authors to read their works and give my input. I have been able to find authors that I may never have heard of before or that I’ve followed from afar. I am pretty blessed in that aspect. I actually set up a way to have authors send me requests to review their works through my blog. This is how Amabel Daniels came into my life. She requested me to review Resisting Redemption, a suspenseful romance.

Resisting Redemption to me, honestly and of course in my own personal opinion, is more of a suspense with a splash of romance in it. Okay, more than a splash but the suspense is STRONG!! I freaking got pulled in right away with the strong as hell heroine, Roxie Malone. Roxie is a woman who has faced many obstacles in her life and the main one right now is being an unemployed single mom. Roxie was hired to be a personal assistant to a lawyer, Grant Newland. Grant has a reputation of being a hard man to work for since his divorce. He hasn’t kept an assistant for more than 24 hours.

How is it possible for a single mom to be able to dedicate her every waking and sometimes sleeping hours to a job?? This was the question posed to Roxie on her first day. Grant is about to take on a case that means the world to him. His childhood friend, Ben, has been arrested for murder. A murder that Ben fiercely denies having committed.

Amabel Daniels has successfully written an amazing, page turning book. Just when you think you have all of the characters figured out she throws a new twist. Watching how she weaves the characters and shows their multifaceted personalities is worth each turn of the page. Yes there is a romance between Grant and Roxie. Amabel was able to blend that in to a plot line so seamlessly that it feels organic. It was beautifully done and your truly root for the couple as they try to free a man and watch to see if they can get the HEA.
